MAXIME ANDOLINI: Double Grabbys Win, Going Maskless and Building a Career Beyond the Fantasy
After taking home two Grabbys in April, Maxime Andolini reflects on his journey from masked mystery to one of Europe’s most recognised performers — and the ambitions taking him beyond the fantasy. In this exclusive interview with GayWoof, he talks about success, authenticity and what comes next.
GWF: First of all, congratulations on your double win at the Grabbys Europe: Best Top and Actor of the Year. Beyond the awards themselves, what did that night mean to you personally, in terms of your journey, your evolution as a performer, and your place in the industry at this stage of your career?
It’s an incredible recognition, and I honestly never expected to win these two very prestigious awards. To be honest, I went there without any major expectations. We had submitted entries in several categories, and I was lucky enough to receive an incredible amount of support from my community. They really showed up, voted for me, and helped me get where I am today... two Grabbys heavier, haha. Receiving that kind of recognition from my followers, my peers, and the

industry means a lot to me. I’ve never really felt like I was the “first choice” in life, so winning these two awards obviously hit me right in the heart. More than anything, it makes me want to keep giving my subscribers what they come to me for: high-quality content that feels natural and authentic… and to keep building this career alongside them.
GWF: The Grabbys gala is often described as both a festive and emotional experience for performers. Looking back now that the spotlight has faded, which moments or feelings have stayed with you the most?
The people you meet, the collaborations, the surprise of the nominations, but also how relaxed and easygoing this kind of event can be, and all the excitement that builds before, during... and after. ;) It’s really a moment when an entire industry and community comes together, connects, shares experiences, and parties. And of course, that creates a lot of memories.
GWF: You first became known as a mysterious masked man, which quickly became your signature. Looking back at your journey from anonymity to becoming one of Europe’s most recognized adult film performers, how does that evolution feel to you today? What ultimately made you decide to reveal your face and begin this new chapter of your career?
At first, I was really doing it for fun — to enjoy myself and show off a little. I started out wearing a mask because I still had a “regular” office job. My partner and I had just opened up our relationship, and some friends told me about X — Twitter at the time — as an alternative to Grindr and a way to show yourself off and meet people. That’s actually how I ended up being spotted by a studio. Then, a few years later, considering how much work content creation had become, I had to make a choice. I chose the XXL life... and that’s when the mask came off. Anyway, quite a few of my friends had already figured out who I was. Apparently, a bathroom is pretty easy to recognize in videos... hahaha.

GWF: The audience sees the fantasy on screen, but not everything that happens behind the scenes. Is there an aspect of your work that might surprise your fans or that you think they often misunderstand?
I think people sometimes imagine that all you need to create content is a camera and a few... attributes. But there’s definitely a lot more to it than that! You need a strategy and discipline. You have to manage your business, your collaborations, keep track of expenses, handle accounting, schedule your content...
We’re real entrepreneurs. We’re running a business, and ultimately, we don’t get that much time off. You have to work every day: engage with your community, schedule content, answer messages across platforms, organize shoots and travel… So yes, it’s a real job. And it’s a full-time one.
GWF: In such a physically demanding industry, how do you manage your energy over time — both on set and when choosing projects — so you can stay at your best without burning yourself out?
Well, as I said earlier, it’s work — and above all, it requires a lot of organization. Creating content involves traveling, being on the move a lot and, in my case, being pretty disciplined when it comes to working out. But all of that can be organized, and when you love what you do, I guess it makes things easier. When it comes to studio productions, for now I also choose not to do too many of them each year. They can be pretty demanding, and I really like keeping enough time to create my own content outside of studio productions. And I’m also lucky enough to have my partner by my side, supporting me every day. That’s priceless.
GWF: You’ve reached a level of recognition that many people in the industry aspire to. Has success changed the way you approach new projects, or even the way you decide what to say yes or no to?
No, not really. I still try to stay natural and open to opportunities. Maybe I’m a little more careful nowadays when it comes to projects, collaborations, or contracts, because with time and experience, you inevitably keep learning. But I like the idea of exploring new territories. And starting to gain some recognition in the industry also opens up new doors. So for now, I’m enjoying what comes my way and just keep moving forward.
GWF: You have a strong presence on screen, but what kind of presence attracts you? What draws you in or excites you most about a fellow performer?
I think part of what people like about me is precisely that natural, authentic side. What I do isn’t really overplayed — I’m doing what I genuinely enjoy.
There’s strength, there’s dominance, but it’s never “too much.” I guess you could call it a kind of gentle strength, and I think that’s part of the appeal too. When I’m collaborating with another performer, I’d say what attracts me most is their ability to let go. We need to be on the same page about what we want to do, and then be able to let ourselves go, explore, and give it everything we’ve got...

And I admire a lot of creators. Everyone has their own identity, their own world, their own way of doing things, and that desire to create something unique and genuine.
GWF: When you compare where you started with where you are today, what part of your evolution as a performer are you most proud of?
Honestly, I’d say the loyalty of my subscribers, the feedback I continue to receive every day, and this community that just keeps growing. And of course, the support and encouragement I get from the people around me. But I’m also particularly proud of the opportunities I now have to speak publicly and build partnerships outside the adult industry, especially with public health institutions, to address issues that matter
to me, such as sexual health and chemsex prevention. That really means a lot to me. The idea that my work, my image, and my visibility can contribute to something that goes beyond content itself... I think that’s amazing.
GWF: Away from the cameras and performing, what does a normal day look like for you when you’re completely switched off from work?
It doesn’t happen very often, I have to admit. Haha. But I’d say: working out, going for a walk somewhere in nature, spending time with my nieces, and having a good meal with the people I love. And when it comes to good food, I’m pretty easy to please... I have the palate of a Doberman.
GWF: Looking ahead, what creative or personal direction feels most exciting to you at this stage of your career?
I’m not entirely sure. I really enjoy what I’m doing today, and I still want to keep developing it. But honestly, I’m also very interested in becoming more involved as a public figure in issues that matter to me. Using my visibility to talk about sexual health, prevention, or other topics where I might be able to make a difference feels meaningful to me. And if one day I get the opportunity to explore acting more outside of adult content... why not! We’ll see. ;)
